Monday Night Racing

Island Sailing Club extends an invitation to all J/24, Capri 22 and Wavelength 24 (or equivalent) sailboat skippers to compete in Monday Night Regatta on the Columbia River between I-5 and 205 bridges.

DESCRIPTION: Monday Night Regatta consists of up to three races, held each race night. These are sportif learning races with boat handling drills incorporated.

ELIGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: Races shall be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and OCSA General Sailing Instructions. Supplemental sailing instructions shall be communicated at the ISC Club House prior to 5:45pm each night and again via VHF radio channel 72 prior to the race start. This is a modified ‘one-design’ regatta focused on learning. All penalties will be exonerated by 360° turns.

DATES AND TIMES: The race warning signal is 6:15pm each Monday with additional warning signals occurring approximately 5 minutes after the last finisher of the previous race.

REGISTRATION: There is no registration or fees required. All boats must provide proof of insurance to Island Sailing and agree to race at their own risk. The Race Committee needs to be informed of any participants prior to the series start. Races can not be joined on the water.

COURSES: Racing marks are placed to identify the start/finish line and additional rounding marks as needed. The courses will be announced by the Race Committee prior to the starting sequence of each race as multiple races will be sailed. These short courses preclude the use of typical OSCA and SYSCO racecourses in the Racebook.

INFORMATION: For more information please contact the Racing Commodore through ISC at info@islandsailingclub.com.

SOCIAL: Gatherings with race review and crew briefings occur after the last race for learning and bonding opportunities at the ISC clubhouse.
