Celebrate Earth Day with us! Join us as we partner with Columbia Riverkeeper to celebrate their 21st birthday for Earth Day Oregon and help raise the bar for a healthy climate and clean water. Island Sailing has contributed $500 to kick off celebrations.

We are so very excited to share a new relationship Island Sailing has entered into with Columbia Riverkeeper! For over twenty years Columbia Riverkeeper has been a tireless environmental advocate for this wonderful river so many of us have the pleasure of exploring and enjoying under sail - and Island Sailing is so very happy to support their efforts.

Sailing is spiritual healing and very self empowering. It is as if deliberately seeking to center oneself. Taking the helm and working with the awesome invisible ancient winds to fly along the sea amongst the waves is an experience of freedom beyond one’s wildest dreams.

Good seamanship should be at the heart of everything we do when we’re out on the water. Understanding at a minimum the basics about proper VHF usage is just the starting point.
