      <image:caption>OYSF aims to keep sailing alive and active in Oregon by making it accessible to young people, with a focus on those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to be on the water. The programs we support connect youth to the joy of sailing and the life skills and confidence it helps build. OYSF’s Community Sailing Program offers sail and instructor job training to youth who otherwise would not have the opportunity to be on the water. At no cost to participants, this program gives teens the chance to experience the outdoors and the joy of sailing.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Legacy Partners - OREGON WOMEN’S SAILING ASSOC.</image:title>
      <image:caption>Organized in 1994 by local women sailors, OWSA promotes opportunities for women to learn sailing through education and practical experience. OWSA continues to carry on the tradition of promoting opportunities for women to sail in Oregon and SW Washington. Each year we partner with OWSA to extend a scholarship opportunity to their volunteer members who have a documented record of volunteering with OWSA, and also a passion for sailing. The Island Sailing Club Scholarship is a one-year membership to Island Sailing Club (ISC) provided by ISC and OWSA. This is a value of over $2600.00! Each year up to two OWSA members who are outstanding volunteers are awarded the scholarship, and share a club membership. Each scholarship recipient receives a Basic Sailing Class through ISC. The Island Sailing Club scholarship gives OWSA members the opportunity to build sailing skills and confidence as a skipper.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>The Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association (OCSA), established in 1958 and later incorporated in 1975, is an independent non-profit organization whose purpose is to encourage and promote sailing events, with an emphasis on racing. OCSA’s all-volunteer Board comprises representatives from yacht clubs of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, who together plan the annual Race Calendar, and publish the OCSA Racebook and Course Charts. OCSA also develops race management skills by providing instruction for race conduct and management, and works toward better community awareness of sailing, water safety and the appreciation of sailing as a sport.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Community Sailing - Get Involved!</image:title>
      <image:caption>Looking to have fun on the water, meet fellow sailors, and build your sailing skills in a laid-back, supportive environment? The Cruising Group is the perfect opportunity! While the winter months are quieter, we’re actively planning for spring and summer, so now is a great time to get involved. By joining, you’ll receive direct emails about upcoming cruising group events, notices, and opportunities to sail together.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/604e73ad12afe14e1120f702/da2886c4-09bc-4393-905a-3b38007bad2c/IMG_20180714_112413995+-+Copy.jpg</image:loc>
      <image:title>Community Sailing - Types of Sails:</image:title>
      <image:caption>Community Sails – Enjoy a shorter time on the water, focused on honing skills, and enjoying the sail, without a specific destination. Picnic or Day Sails – Spend a full day with us! We’ll usually have a set destination and a planned lunch break. Overnight Sails – For those looking for a bit more adventure, these are at least two days, including an overnight stay at a set destination.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/604e73ad12afe14e1120f702/bd202f7b-57db-4fc1-864d-bd5f327c7c99/2+capris+sailing.JPG</image:loc>
      <image:title>Community Sailing - Getting More Involved!</image:title>
      <image:caption>Are you interested in taking on a larger role in the cruising group? Here are a couple of ways to get more involved: Event Hosts - If you enjoy organizing, consider being an Event Host. Hosts manage the planning to bring events to life. While some sailing experience is helpful, it’s mostly about making things happen smoothly. Join Our Pool of Regular Skippers and Crew Members - For our more experienced sailors, consider joining our pool of regular skippers and crew members who commit to events in advance: Regular Skipper – As a skipper, you’ll be responsible for the boat and crew aboard. Experience on the type of boat you’ll be skippering is required, along with a desire to teach and share your skills. We’ll also work to expand your comfort with different boats, and we’ll pair you with at least one other experienced crew member whenever possible. Regular Crew Member – Acting as a second to the skipper, capable crew members have enough sailing experience to support the skipper and can also sign up in advance to participate in events.</image:caption>
