2018 Islands Race (South Sound Series)

Earth's Edge, Denis and crew on Colvos Passage during the 2018 Islands RaceCongrats to Denis & Crew (Chris, AJ, Paul, Justin, Mary and Jordan) for taking 3rd in the Islands Race! And it was a close 3rd - only 16 seconds behind 2nd and 35 seconds behind 1st.

Additional congratulations are due for finishing 4th place overall (of 16 boats in the class) in the Southern Sound Sailing Series!

A special THANK YOU to Denis for skippering Earth's Edge and seeing us through the winter series; and AJ for "tricking out" Earth's Edge to perform.

The Southern Sound Series is four winter races (Vashon, Duwamish Head, Toliva Shoal and Islands).  The Islands Race was the last race of the Series, and ISC sailors raced approx. 29.5nm from Gig Harbor, through Colvos Passage to Blake Island, and back through Colvos to Gig Harbor.

Islands Race March 17, 2018 – This is the 4th Race of the Southern Sound Sailing Series. The race starts outside of Gig Harbor entrance goes up Colvos Passage to a mark at the north end of Blake Island and returning down Colvos to Gig Harbor. Approximate distance 29.5nm.
