The Emerald Coast is considered one of the best sail training areas and 'best kept' sailing secrets in the US. Consistent breezes, dolphins off the bow, and Southern laid-back hospitality while gunkholing in scenic and historical bayous. Explore the Intra-coastal waterways and...
..."go outside" (as the locals say) into the Gulf of Mexico and near coastal sailing.
Training: Sailing from Pensacola and along the Emerald Coast challenges sailors with near coastal sailing offshore while navigating shifting shoals, obstructions, technical inlets, busy shipping fairways, confusing night sailing, and the Mississippi Delta with hundreds of miles of bayou - the list goes on. The nearshore winds are perfect for leisurely sailing while the offshore winds can challenge even salty sailors.
The diversity of training options is unparalleled, which is what students want and need! Gaining experience both "inside" and "outside" prepares a sailor for most challenges on the water.
Vacation: The weather's warm, the water emerald green, the barrier beaches have sugar-white sand. The coastline is pristine, unspoiled and natural beauty. Dolphins surfing off the bow is an expectation. Intimate sunsets.
The ports include many historical forts and towns. The South? When not sailing - enjoy the seafood, live music, and many lively "watering holes" along the coast. Perhaps the Blue Angels will train and offer an airshow (their home). Indulge in Gulf-to-table dishes such as steamed shrimp, yellowfin tuna, flounder, red snapper, grouper and fried oysters.
Simply, no experience required to have a LOT of fun....
The vessel is a fully equipped Salina 48 Catamaran. The Salina 48 fuses exterior elegance and interior comfort, finished with the unrivalled quality of the Flagship range. With an upwind sail area of 1410 sq ft, CST mainsail and central controls at the helm station, the Salina 48 is extremely easy to sail. The helm station is integrated with the cockpit for comfort and safety.
